bazza_g
Was browsing the OFCOM website, as you do, and had a quick laugh about some of the complaints that have been put to OFCOM. I loved this one from the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix in March this year [ QUOTE ] As a driver pulled out of the pit stop and re-entered the race, he could be heard saying “F*cking piece of sh1t” over his radio mic when experiencing technical problems with his car. Two viewers considered that the language was inappropriate for the time of broadcast. One complainant believed that a time delay should have been used to block the offensive language. [/ QUOTE ] I wonder which team it was?
sayerbloke
That was Fischicella I think. I seem to recall Brundle during commentary picking up on bad language by Fischi and saying "It's not necessary; it doesn't make the car any faster" etc.
Chav
[ QUOTE ] Two viewers considered that the language was inappropriate for the time of broadcast [/ QUOTE ] Well I consider Eastenders inappropriate for any time of day. Just need it seconded then can have that banned too.
bazza_g
The matter was resolved without penalty [ QUOTE ] Decision We recognise the inherent difficulties faced by broadcasters when transmitting live coverage of sports event such as F1: the desire to show action ‘as it happens’ needs to be balanced with the requirement that unsuitable material is not transmitted. On this occasion, we acknowledge that ITV had no reason to anticipate that offensive language was likely to be included in the live feed and welcome its immediate broadcast of an on-air apology. In the circumstances, we consider the broadcaster acted appropriately and therefore consider the matter resolved. [/ QUOTE ]
NeilB
The feed on the drivers radio is a delayed by a few seconds, the host broardcaster decides when to listen into the team radio. Why do you think JPM's radio was never tapped into.

[/ QUOTE ] Until the Fisichella incident there was no delay, though. I was hoping to hear some more drivers' 'thoughts' at the next round, but the first time they cut to a driver's radio, Brundle mentioned that they'd introduced the delay. Spoilsports... jimdiesel
I feel sorry for his lovely wife Connie. He really is a nasty piece of work. I cannot wait for him to have his first rubbing incident with Tony Stewart in NASCAR. Tony will rip his head off. NASCAR fined Dale Earnhardt Jr $10000 and docked him 25 points in 2004 for saying $hit during an interview. JPM is going to be on -987 points and owing NASCAR $2500000 by the end of the 2007 season.
