P_G
on these! I was getting dark after I had fitted them, pressured up and cleaned the calipers a bit, so sorry about the pics. However a big thanks to S3Floyd for parting with them and putting up with my incessant calls to see when I could pick them up last week. It was worth the journey / business trip as put through expenses! I'll take more pics in the morning once the struts have hunkered down again after all four being jacked up. Certainly fills the arches better than the Avus III's. Opinion please?
Avus_Bub
[ QUOTE ] Opinion please? [/ QUOTE ] But........ You better have a word with DJB and get some lower springs sorted out, it seems to be sitting 'awkwardly' in the pic's. Unless you'd only just let it down from the jack and hadn't settled the suspension? BUB EDIT. Just read your post again. Need to see those pic's tomorrow! [/ QUOTE ] Went for a quick run and it is a little better, will give it until the morning and see then. I already have the springs, moving from 18" to 19" was my alternative to fitting springs since the wife is 33 weeks pregnant and says the standard ride is hard enough at present. Milo
Looks very nice Graeme What is the offset on the Sportecs?
P_G
Ooohh, don't know Milo. All I know is that they fit! I'll find out for you. But I know that fill the arches better and are wider than the standards as the tyres are now in line with the wing arch bulges. You'll get a decent look at them next Sunday if you are still joining us for a McMuffin or two?
P_G
JD, cheers for the comments
Milo
I can't make it next Sunday as I'm away The size and offset (the OEM wheels should have been ET43) will be on the back of the wheel so if you could take a peek at the spare when you get a second pleeeeease
P_G
Spare? Don't be silly, only managed to afford four of them, the Avus is still the spare as it has a Conti on it. That's the only problem with Goodyear F1's, unidirectional tread so need a bi directional as a spare. I'll have a look for you anyway at the weekend. PS/ Ignore the last part of my PM about McD's, shame.
Cupramax
Ooooh, thats looks great, definately going to paint my calipers now... is that the foliatek kit?
P_G
If you are refering to the caliper paint it's good old dependable Hammerite with some Acrylic decals from fleabay. Just as good and still lasting the distance. Also found Swarfega Tough Wipes are ideal for cleaning off brake dust and keep exhaust tips shiney! Fergy
[ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] V Nice Graeme. Just needto let the suspension drop a bit and shes a beauty
P_G
Well after a bit of driving around to get the suspension back to its normal height I think they've fitted the arches quite nicely....

MarkB
Looks good. Is that on standard suspension?
P_G
Yep, standard S4 suspension. I do have H&R Springs, but I don't know how well the Sportecs would take to less dampening and can't afford for them to go pop, so not chancing it. A3Floyd
They look sweet Graeme - if you ever fancy selling them, let me know Only joking, glad you like them and it was well worth getting them refurbed for the 3rd time!!! If anyone from Kent is looking at getting their wheels refurbed then i can recommend Lepsoms in Gillingham. Wicked wheels tried 2 times and made an AWFUL job of them. I wouldn't bother with the springs by the way, i reckon they look just right as they are
