rjgreen4
Not sure where to post this one, just bought a Golf GT TSI 1.4, 170 bhp. Not a patch on the S4 cab I traded in but seem to be averaging 44mpg and the company is far happier about the fuel bills. I am looking at retro fitting, sat nav, arm rest, cruise control and parking sensors. I need help as to where these can be done as the car is standard apart from having DSG and metallic black paint. I know that there is a website on the Audi forums that shows details of retro fitting and also has pics. Any help will be appreciated
Atlantis
Check out the VW accessories pages Cruise is £150 fitted. Parking sensors are £350. Best to buy the MFD2 DVD sat-nav off ebay and get a local audio installer to fit it. Dunno about the armrest.
Simonl
rj, a review or comparism would be great, i think the 1.4TSI is a brilliant choice mate, especially with all the anti polluting taxes coming up. Rock solid residuals too IMO.
edo
fitting MFD2 is a piece of cake.
puttling
Centre arm rest is almost impossible due to the cost. The entire centre console is different - I was told this by a dealer when I was looking at a 2nd hand one before I bought new. Or he may have been bluffing. Stealers!! Snoopy
The sat nav just remove the old radio, plug the new one in and get an aftermarket sat/nav ariel most people hide this in the a-pillar or back of the dash. http://www.crp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/GolfV/radio.htm shows how to remove the radio theres a step by step of the satnav on the mkIV forum. http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forums/ Centre armrest it depends on how much of it you want too fit/change it can be costly. cruise control 1K0 054 690 and cost fitted was quoted earlier by someone. skifly
armrest is aparrently only the section with the cupholders and the bit surrounding the back end of the handbrake. You will not have a working air vent though. I have been looking at it but cant justify as yet. Will do soon though when i have some spare fundage. Snoopy
http://www.fischermotorsport.de/Volkswagen/VW-Golf-Mk5/Interior-0.610.html Is a useful site to price things up on, quite a few people here have had good dealings with them too. rjgreen4
about to bid on a sat nav system - DVD on e-bay for £800 with antenna. How risky is it taking into account the seller has a feedback score of 800. or should i not take the risk and buy from VW for 1200 quid

nhs
Depends whether you want the MY2007 with the silver finish knobs on it (Model number ends in C) go for big money, whereas last years (model number ends in B) go for under £500 £300 seems a lot of money to pay for shiny knobs.....
