SJL
needing help. i have an s3 with a chorus head unit with cd unit in boot. could anyone tell me where i can get an i pod connector and which one. i understand that Audi have one on the market but dont know much about it. and also which is best one to get. i'm fed up up with losing a signal with a fm receiver type i have at the moment. many thanks
Tunbridge
I was thinking about getting an iPod with FM transmitter for my S3, aren't they any good? Would I be better getting a hard wired set up like you are suggesting? All the aftermarket kits I've seen would use the input currently used by you CD changer hence you would not be able to play CD's any more.
lottiefox
I had an FM one and it was awful, couldn't keep a signal especially in cities and towns. The Audi hard wired one is great and I didn't mind losing the CD function. Other folks have got the Dension set up as well.
Tunbridge
Does anyone know if you can get the Audi iPod connector retro fitted to the old S3 and how much the stealers charge for this? I’m guessing there has already been a thread on this before.
lottiefox
I had mine fitted and it cost £185 for supply and fit. I would imagine it can be retro fitted to your car as it works with all sorts of different head units, Concert, Chorus etc - I'm sure someone who knows best (CraigyB!) will be along to confirm later! Tunbridge
What (if any) of the iPods functions can be controlled via the Audi head unit? Also where is the connector usually located, in the glove box or can you get it put anywhere?
Fazzzman
I need to get the TP Traffic Announcments daily - if I have a CD playing it cuts in and pauses the CD. Will it do this with the ipod if its hard wired?
