geordie_guy
Hi, I have Passat 1997 1.8S Petrol and I am thinking of changing the air filter, could anyone explained where it is located and is it quite easy to change and what make I should go for? pugboy
As far as I am aware it is behind the OS headlight. Big square box. Easy enough to change, but its part of regular servicing so I dont know why you would just change it.
geordie_guy
My car has done 10,000 miles and I would like to change it because I didn't bother with the full service but I have changed the engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs, rear brake discs and pads, and wipers. My service book has been stamped by my garage as well. I have looked on ebay and the prices I am getting are range from £20-£50. But my local shop is selling this for around £10. Does anyone know what it should really cost? Any particular make I shuold go for? Are there any online shops I can buy from? Thanks
pugboy
No point buying just a filter online as the P&P would make it more expensive. Air filters tend to be around a tenner for most cars. You might want to just have a look and see if the filter is dirty before buying a new one.
