bpsmith
I have seen the Souveran used with a PC on another PC question on here recently. Seem to remember them using a pair of gloves and lifting out the whole lump of wax from the pot and applying it to a pad like you would to a surfboard! Closest thing I can think of in describing, sorry!?!
omen666
I'd call Tim at www.cleanyourcar.com Got my PC gear from him, very knowledgeable and helpful. For applying wax your looking at a 6" DAS Blue Pad. Tip pot of wax upside down, squeeze the sides until thw wax separates from bottom of tub, lift tub, hold the wax and rub into the pad. Goes on nice.
johnss8
I apply Souveran with the pc no problems a really nice thin layer, as for the pc i got mine from autopia and with the rate at the moment should be even cheeper
JonnyGTi
Yep, same here, find the PC is excellent for spreading a thin layer of Souveran using a finishing pad. Takes only few minutes to do each panel. I got some microfibre gloves for handling the Souveran as in the Summer the wax can get a bit slippery on your bare hands, once out the pot
Tarmac_Terrorist
I quite fancy buying some sort of PC or similar. How easy are they to use? Bit worried about knackering the paintwork - is there some sort of special technique? Guess a video tutorial / hints and tips would be useful if anyone knows of anything available. petsy
I believe there is a cd or dvd showing you what to do as someone here (cleaning forum) was asking for a copy.

JonnyGTi
[ QUOTE ] How easy are they to use? [/ QUOTE ] The Porter Cable (PC) is very easy to use TT...plus they allow you to tackle jobs that are just too hard to do well by hand (like swirl removal on VW paint ). Had mine nearly six months and would'nt be without one now. Used sensibly they are perfectly safe. They have to be imported from America and converted to our 240v system. Considering this, the kits that Clean Your Car sell (which include everything you need to convert), as well as the Sonus Pads, look pretty good value imo. Tarmac_Terrorist
Thanks guys...I think I may have to get one of these before the year is out. Looking at some suppliers websites there seems to be various mops that you can use on them. I guess I really need to do my homework on this first For years I've stuck with hand polishing but I actualy think I'm getting fussier - this forum makes you that way! rozzerfodder
Tarmac Terrorist, I use a PC on my mkV GTi no probs. Got one after buying the car and am well pleasaed with what it can do. For peace of mind, Cleanandshiny in Wokingham are doing an open day on 23rd September. I suggest popping along to see all the car detailing products and demos, I am sure you will order one straight away. If you are lucky, someone might even PC your car if you want. Heres the link to the site and aforementioned open day. http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/news.asp
Tarmac_Terrorist
Thanks Rozzerfodder - I may well get down to the open day later this month...I couldn't make the last open day in May as it was the day I was picking my car up!
