Dave
Was reading an article today and some mentioned a Bluefin Audi.. basically a chipped TD, that was putting out 180bhp. Never heard of bluefin before.. anyone know anymore?
bazza_g
Bluefin, from Superchips looks like the AmD oneclik system, allowing you to tune and revert to standard for dealer servicing etc - here
Dave
So basically it's the new name for superchips?
Woppum
They do alot of work on fast fords. The Focus RS and the ST got huge gains with that chip.

[/ QUOTE ] I think Superchips still do their remap stuff, Bluefin is the name for their box of tricks you can change mappings at will with

Ian_C
[ QUOTE ] Was reading an article today and some mentioned a Bluefin Audi.. basically a chipped TD, that was putting out 180bhp. [/ QUOTE ] Toby (nee TobyS2) is looking at having the Sportback 2.0 PD 140 chipped by Bluefin. He called and asked if the 180 bhp remap was any good. Only on Thursday I found out they are an arm of Superchips! If/when the car is chipped I'll report back or get him to post his thoughts. Wallachie
I bought my bro a Bluefin system for his RS Focus in July, it's a great piece of kit and makes a massive difference to the car! I would recommend it to anyone considering it, one of the reasons it appealed to my bro was the fact it can be un-installed in a matter of seconds if you are taking it for a service or selling it on. Atomic
Considering it's a diag plugin type tool it seems a very expensive item if it's bound to one car. Anyone thrid/thought of applying this to friends vehicles?
Sponge
I asked about that in another thread - it cannot be done. It's registered to your vehicle. It is more expensive than a regular remap, but considering it's reversible as and when desired, I don't think it's that bad.

Wallachie
[ QUOTE ] Care to buy one on my behalf? [/ QUOTE ] No problem mate, all I have to do is call them and tell them it's for a mate of mine and that you will phone and order it, I'm sure they will take payment over the phone. They're called Car & Audi Tune, located in Coleraine, Co Londonderry. Let me know what it's for and I'll call them for you.
Sponge
Arrghh! Don't tempt me! My insurance is due in 4 weeks, so I'll be getting quotes with and without the mod. If it's not too much, I may well take you up on your kind offer.

[/ QUOTE ] Toby called yesterday to say the deed has been done, hence we've promised each other rides in each others' new cars. I say new cars, as the Sportback is apparently totally transformed from quick to a level that now moves internal organs with the torque. Ian_C
Do it, although it might be a bit of a handful in winter powering a bigger, heavier, transverse engined A4 without quattro. If you haven't done so already, grippy Goodyear Eagle F1s or Pirelli P Zero Rossos might be a wise purchase! Ian
