Getting back into it

Hi guys,

after a couple of years without access to my own car washing facilities EEK2.GIF I now have the ability to spend as many hours as i fancy cleaning my beautiful mota.

What I could do with are some recommendations as to where to start and how to finish the beast off.

Typical cleaning process is thus:

1. Clean with Meguiars Gold Class

2. Remove excess with turtle blade

3. Wax with Turtlewax metallic polish

4. Polish with Autoglym Super Resin Polish

I know there's a mixture of products in there, but there is a good reason for this. I'm more than happy to move to a different wax/polish.

I'm also thinking about an electric polisher, as polishing the '8 takes a bloody long time smashfreakB.gif

So, answers on a postcard please fellas 169144-ok.gif

If you haven't polished it for a while you defo want to use a random orbital and maybe some Megs Dual action cleaner polish or Zaino stuff. BTW aren't you supposed to wax after you polish m8 169144-ok.gif

and yeas it'll take the whole day to do it right depends on how many passes. also I used Megs NXT wax and P21s for the wax dunno about the turtle stuff UHOH7.GIF

A Porter Cable is what everyone on here will advise. Not got one myself but looking to do so soon.

Before you start though, I would recommend you clay bar the whole thing after washing it, to make sure that you get all the bonded contaminents off otherwise you will simply lock them in with the later stages and it will never feel nice and smooth!
