RedRobin
[ QUOTE ] They just look so much better without the front number plate!! [/ QUOTE ] ....Don't they just!! The Italians used to have tiny reg plates - Why can't we? It's ok - I do know the answer. Number plate stickers on bonnets were an improvement, but no more . evosapper
Ah Robin, is it worth the, "what do you mean the numberplate has fallen off officer, I am so sorry I'll get it replaced straight away" I ran my integrale without one for about 6 months and didn't get stopped once, I only put it back on for a MOT! Tarmac_Terrorist
Looks like it almost grounded out coming of that transporter. ....which reminds me, I watched 2 Peugeot 307cc's coming off a large dealer transporter at the main dealer in Basingstoke about 3 weeks ago and they both crunched the front spoiler coming forwards off the lorry! Driver didn't seem to give a sh1t.
jhibbin
It's funny but for a few months while my GTi was at the bodyshop I was convinced that I would have prefered grey on 18" wheels to the silver on 17" wheels that I have. Every picture I saw of a grey GTi convinced me this was the pick of the GTi colours, partly since I think the painted inserts on the 18" wheels match the colour so well. I saw a Grey GTi at my local dealers and this confirmed my thinking. Then when I got my car back with a fantastic shine on it and immaculate 17" wheels I was amazed at just how good this combo is. IMO the silver is the only colour where the 17" wheels just edge it over the 18" wheels...not that i'm biased When I get the time to do the Autoglym works I'll post a picture
Tarmac_Terrorist
I agree...silver met paint & the silver wheels are a good combination. I've seen silver GTI's on 18's and although immaculately clean, the wheels look dull compared to the paintwork - almost like they've been driven for a couple of hundred miles and accumilated brake dust! Muppetboy
I've got 2 kerbed alloys now, and before rushing and getting them repaired I want to assess the option of 18's fully!
