jimmyp
Well i have just been out in rs32's car, since having the new toys fitted i can honestly say it is a true animal there is an easy 15+bhp gain since last week when i was in it at APS, and the noise, well you will have to hear it for yourself. It is easily on par on if not quicker than the mkiv stage 4 guys, i have been out with DeckedR32 and his is a beast and this is easily level with that now if not abit more, i can only imagine what it would be like if the cams were installed. There is no way that my Revo stage two .:R will even keep up and the ones with the cam upgrades will be level, just. So then its left to Helfinger with the supercharged monster to keep the mkv on its toes, and keep the mkiv going strong. Its quite hard to describe it really but god its a very angry animal when pushed...
dogbucket
but that would mean Milltek have invented an exhaust system that gives +50bhp increase, unless rs32 has other mods I have forgotten?

[/ QUOTE ] he also runs a remap, plus (i'm sure) the mkv .:R has slightly different cams to the mkiv, they have alot more low down torque/pull than the mkiv, but seriously this is one very quick and powerful car... Daemon
I'll worry only when they can figure out how to shave off the 300lbs of extra weight they added to the MkV R32. ian
helfinger
i can't see it myself as ian says its a heavier car....
rs32
150 kilos is a fair bit - I agree. The interesting bit is the level of performance with the standard rev limiter. obviously with the manifolds we're in uncharted territory - any ideas on what they could be good for ? we'll find out next week what percentage an extra 7k miles, the manifolds + cats & remap has added. have never driven or owned a N/A car that pulls so hard - but of course I'm nowhere near supercharger levels of joy
helfinger
manifolds on a mk5 r32 will release another 13-15 bhp.
rs32
OK, so a current fair estimate would be between 280 and 290 hp, with a further bit of tweaking to do on the ignition timings and fuelling. it certainly breathes well now
UKLooney
I reckon that if you stuck on race pipes, you'd be pushin 300hp, add a CAI and a short intake manifold you'd be lookin at 320hp, some lightweight pulleys and you'll have a 350hp monster. Can't imagine the figures once cams get added into the equation
Mook
Bollox Jimmy The only way to find out is to get RS32 and Mook on the track again at Castle Combe. Or you can come and have a go if you reckon you're hard enough at Silverstone on 10th October...

And a quicker car To be fair to Jimmy he is right about the animal bit though - the car now sounds like it is looking for a fight when floored - it's great hmmm, very tempted by the track again, although I thought I'd decided not to ruin the car at 6 months old. but still tempting
