mike12
I have taken the plunge after reading Bubs post about his remap and the fact my warranty ended last month. My 190bhp Avant is booked in for 9am on Saturday morning and it can't come quick enough. Hopefully I will see some good gains over standard. mike12
I will post my results after Saturday. I am expecting about 215-220 Bhp with 220-230lb/ft . It is just standard at the moment but that might change once I have a chat with Jim at Star.

Jim new his stuff when I spoke to him on the phone this morning. Fergy- The car is a manual. I hadn't heard of it being a problem with multitronics before. Avus_Bub
[ QUOTE ] I have taken the plunge after reading Bubs post about his remap and the fact my warranty ended last month. But would advise an oil and filter change, then once a year thereafter. Jim's a top bloke, you won't be disappointed Due to my Oettinger alloy intake Jim was able to add a bit more boost on my car, hence the 237bhp figure. You should see 220 no problem! Are you going for a DualSystem box too? Enjoy! BUB
mike12
The reason I have waited until my warranty ran out was because I didn't want any issues with them voiding it because of the remap. I recently had it serviced also and I have moved it to fixed intervals (yearly). I am just going for the standard map as I can't see myself changing it back once I am used to it. After speaking to Jim again yesterday, he is also going to fit a Hyperboost HX valve. I will probably get a K+N as well. Mick

Chrisg
OK. Isn't that about £300 ( + vat and fitting?) supposed to be worth another 10 horses, good for a manifold, and Jim has tested on the rolling road, so none of the horses are lame ! kenny_boon
cant remember how much it was, as far as extra bhp goes im not sure, will wait till remap time as i didnt get it RR tested, feels better tho

My one is the welded Oettinger one. No issues at all. Oettinger claim 5-6hp and Jim thought that might be the case. I fitted it before my re-map and it seemed to improve midrange at the time. (or it might've been my empty pockets telling me that ) BUB
kenny_boon
where did you but the pipe from? thanks mate, im trying to hunt down or find the price out of the standard one, so i can refit it and see if the light comes back on with the OE part
