Hopsta
cant what... ??? login ?? bootup ? assume that this is a standalone machine and not part of a windows domain ?? I've got a util which will get you booted up and logged in Are you getting any error messages at all ? be nice to know if the local SAM (password file) is actually corrupted. Assume that you dont have another admin account to work with? any backups of the 'system state' ? If its part of a network can you access it via another PC ? tried resetting the password ?? What does the event logs say. Graham

Hopsta
[ QUOTE ] And yes it is on a domain I have tried changing the password again on the server but cannot get in, although I can from other machines [/ QUOTE ] So with the same account your able to log on other machines ?? sounds like you computer account on the domain has got screwed. The domain computer/user accounts are stored on the server(Domain Controller) with no local copies. Can you access the PC still from another PC using \\[computer name]\c$\? or even tried accessing the local machine/SAM file with 'Computer Management' (in Control Panel/Admin tools)?
