P_G
I know I have posted about this before but now I find out from Awesome GTi they can now supply the B6 S4 CAI for approx £300 and I have acquired a new credit card with 0% on purchases until may '07 and a healthy credit limit. Irresponsible I know but work is good and commission is flowing and I feel a burning sensation from the money in my pocket. Supposedly I would also be the first in the UK to have one fitted so somewhat of a test mule. So what do people think?
kenny_boon
what would you be wanting from it? ive heard there are no performance gains to be had over OE system but no tests as such
danksy
If its anything like the kit for the Golf Gti it is very well made As Kenny says, you will not get much of a gain since VAG airboxes tend to be quite efficient in OEM form
P_G
Well I was thinking of it as a test mule for more than one reason. I am going to AMD this weekend anyway for a dyno. Since Awesome also have a RR, I wondered about purchasing it, getting it fitted, having a drive and dyno'ed on the same day and if there is an appeciable difference in delivery as opposed output of power (and perhaps noise) keeping it. The only variable being of course that both RR's are calibrated the same. Then we would at last have some proof of whether these things do indeed improve perfomance in some way. kenny_boon
maybe worth a shot then, if you have the spare cash
SamD
I would be interested to know if it makes a tangible difference too.

Will22
I think that the only difference that it will make is the noise and with full Milltek I don't think that I'd notice

I think I'm going to give it a bash but have a chat with Awesome to say there is a chance once it is fitted I may not want it, very much a voyage of discovery. P_G
I'm going to keep away from it at the mo Kenny, I'm letting my heart spend what's in my wallet if I do and I could use the moeny far more sensibly, if a lot more boring. Brakes I think will be the next project and finally remap. I'll let someone else be the test mule for the Carbonio on the S4.
