Atomic
Starting to believe I got chewed on the auction with this one... Partly my fault I admit as I did a quick check on delivery and whilst it worked I assumed it was th output of my portal media player as opposed to the actual system... Anyways... Plugging in the Monitor to the Tuner (Doesnt work without tuner before you ask...) I get a pretty p$ss poor picture unless I wind up the brighness fully. In addition I also dont get full use of the screen, essentially the right hand 1cm (maybel slightly less) is unused when using inputs from AV1 and AV2. I tried a Sony PS1 and iRiver PMP120 on these inputs, both have the same quality/size issues. However if I put it onto the tuner, albeit I cant actually get a signal I can see the white noise across the complete screen. Also when using the AV inputs I get a PAL message so I know that in theory it's switching correctly between PAL and NTSC(sp?). Having a fairly electronic background I would describe the problems as being either sync orientated or it hasnt switch correctly to PAL... or something is duff... I cannot for whatever reason find any sync controls or come to it a contrast control for the monitor via it's remote, which may/maynot resolve some of the problems. Lastly, and this is the most frustrating I can't determine if it's the Tuner or the Monitor, I'm assuming its the Tuner... which if so is probably the hardest to replace in isolation. Any suggestions/ideas/theories? or knowledge if how to call up sync/contrast settings for this? Thanks, AG>
IT_S8
Can you send me some more close up photos of exactly what you've been shipped, I'll give it a look over and see if theres anything obvious I can is wrong. There were quite a few different Tuner models and Screen models - I wonder if someone has mismatched them somehow? If you're ever up north, Im happy to show you my kit and poss swap bits over in a diag fashion ;-)
