shipy
Anyone know if a 2nd hand steering wheel control unit from another vehicle can be enabled for cruise or does it need to be a new one if its replaced. Rgds
shark_90
Yes a second hand one car be used, but as you have a B7 you're going to need one of two units and I imagine there won't be many in circulation. I'd suggest just buying the new parts, it's definately worth the piece of mind and less hassle too. Do you have MFSW?

[/ QUOTE ] No Shark 90 it's an early s-line without MFW checked the control unit last night and it ends with an S which I read means it wont work. Trying to fit it as cheaply as possible but your probably right especially in a car still under warranty it may well prove to be false economy. Have you got the latest VAG COM lead with CAN? Looking at Ross Tech it seams the B7 only uses CAN for the new engines, all other functions work with a dual K lead.
shark_90
Yes I have. Never tried my old cable with a B7, so I don't know if it'll work or not. It will be a false economy, if you're going to do it, do it properly mate
