monster
Hi other the last two week the cooling fan on my beloved TDI have been cutting in at the most unreasonable times when the engine is cold and just started when the engine is cold ie a 2 mile trip when the engine is hot and ive switched the thing off Its a 2.0TDI 05 with about 40k on it, im see no warning lights and the expansion vessel is exactly between max / min Any ideas before I ring the ADT, my nearest dealer is 40 mile down the road Pete
iceman2002_uk
mine does the same the fans run for air conditioning aka climate control and cool the aircon radiator so run nearly constant. if the engines warm or hot and its over the max boundary, they will run on as mine has a few times! nothing to worry about mate it seems to be the norm! ocrp
Does this happen when you have the aircon on, or does it not make a difference? I have a similar problem on my VW Passat, which only comes about when using the aircon. Apparently it has something to do with the aircon gas high pressure switch.
