nhs
Good choice No DSG though - always a personal thing Yup, Petsy's right, hope the Euro exchange rate stays where it is or even improves for you
Richy
Select do offer an exchange rate fixing service. It costs £250 with an exchange rate of 1.45 Euro / £, which is not quite as good as todays exchange rate (1.47). So would cost an extra £530 overall, which I didn't think would work out to be worth it as the lowest it has been in the last 3 months is 1.44 (1.41 would start to make it be worth doing)

Jack_is_Back
[ QUOTE ] Nice Spec, and the Blue Graphite is quite rare too... [/ QUOTE ] And my favourite colour, bloody lovely IMO. It's the colour I preferred but just couldn't find one with the spec I wanted. I'm too impatient to wait three months for a car so 'settled' for black. Black is nice but I still get a bit jealous on the rare occasion I see a Blue Graphite.

Inzaghi
Picked mine up from Select last week. I'll do a write-up of the process in the next week or so. One word of warning, never forget your dealing with a salesman. And don't worry about the Euro, just get in contact with a Broker asap and sort a deal out. Nice colour though! [/ QUOTE ] I just felt that a lot of the time I was told what I wanted to hear and it turned out to be BS. Still happy though, it's difficult not to be when you save 4k I think your other question is already covered. Hopefully get 10 minutes to stick my review up shortly. Richy
[ QUOTE ] Yes Select are the broker but I think he meant a currency broker. [/ QUOTE ] I just assumed that I would pay Select in £ at what ever the exchange rate was at the time. Should I be doing something with a currency broker then?
petsy
using a currency broker will cost you extra. you can choose not to use one seeing that the exchange rate is very favourable for the £ to € at the moment but exchange rates do fluctuate over time. [/ QUOTE ] No you pay the German dealer direct for both deposit and final amount. You pay Select their fees and delivery cost in pounds when you collect the car. Richy
Sold my current car today in readyness for the GTI I sold it sooner rather than later as I thought it wouldn't sell to well over xmas. Only problem now is that I have to drive my sister's MG Midget until the GTi arrives at the start of January!
