GTi Exhaust

Good day Folks, for all you GTi drivers who have discovered their exhaust dirty, uncleanable, discoloured, etc, etc, don't just live with it, get a new shiny one free under warranty. Mine is a 05 plate, hardly ever cleaned it, left it too late to do anything about it, merely enquired with my local dealer (different one to where i bought it as well)and they practically agreed on the spot to change it for a new one. Only waited a couple of weeks for the whole new unit to come from Germany, got it changed in about 45min this morning, and by God does it look good. Went out with some Autosol about 10min ago and i think i can see my ugly mug in it, might even eat off it this afternoon. And yes, i will regularly clean it from now on. I shall leave you with a comment the service man said to me as i was leaving, "I'm surpried more people (still in warranty) don't ask for a new one", to which i told him that most people probably can't be bothered with the hassle. Well to all those who probably can't be bothered, if you saw mine, it might well change your mind........ smirk.gif

Well, yes, the whole back box with silencer was fitted. If that means the whole exhaust wasn't fitted, then please excuse my terminology. But i do have 2 new shiny chrome tips and they, afterall, are the only things people can see. Reference piccies, i shall try, although as my use of words has proved, i'm not that technically minded. But folks, do ask your dealer; bear in mind that they have to ask VW if they can do it, so if VW say yes for mine, surely they'd say yes to anyone who has a 05 GTi, as they have admitted that they were built with slightly different tips...
