I enabled the alarm beep on my car last week. I wasn't sure I liked it at first, so thought I'd give it a while.

I still don't like it.

It sounds, cheap. I think I'll be turning it off soon.

Re unlock/lock always used to like my Clifford as sound was a useful confirmation in carpark etc. you had locked it, but if you held both buttons down on the remote it was silent useful for when you wanted to be more discreet.

I always found myself double checking that I had locked the car, with the beep it adds a little confidence, like you say. The beep appears to come from the rear of the car, not the horn, but it'd starting to get a little annoying.

That's why I've turned the beep on on my car, I can just press the lock button while walking away and hear that it's locked instead of having to turn around and check.
