Funki
The brake fluid in my A3 is well past its use-by date. I'm looking to do a complete replacement of all the hydraulic fluid, ensuring no old fluid is left anywhere. I'm keen to do all the work myself, does anyone have experience of carrying this out? I have read the Haynes manual but I fear they're over-simplifying things. As far as I know, the brake system and the clutch system share the same hydraulic supply and this requires special equipment to bleed properly... Can I simply use the standard bleeding techniques as with other cars? Any suggestions welcome!
Atomic
Brake bleeding kits arnt exactly special. They normally just employ a 1 way valve to allow the fluid out when you pump the brake and not let the air back in when you release. It can normally be done with 2 people without any kits but it takes a while..
Funki
I've got a one-way bleed kit but how would I bleed the clutch master cylinder as I'm told I need a pressure-bleed tool to do this (properly) - or should I just forget the clutch bleed and do just the brakes??
