lankyandy Posted September 11, 2006 Report Share Posted September 11, 2006 i have been trying to find out about installing this sat nav system to my a3.about 6months ago i contacted a company who would supply and fit the unit for £1600 inc latest dvd disc and cd changer.i have been trying to find them but nothing so far.does anyone no of anywhere who will supply and fit them?and why does the cup holder have to be renoved?does it fowl the gear stick or could it be fitted and used with care?tahnks for any help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Even if you use him, he's probably knowledgeable enough to answer your cup holder problem. I'd guess it either fouls the wiring, new components or is a safety/usage issue. craigyb Posted September 12, 2006 Report Share Posted September 12, 2006 I'm pretty sure its because it gets in the way when you drop the switch frame from the top of the dash to below the RNS-E. But it is converted into a storage compartment. Maybe the cutout in the new trim will not take a cup holder anymore (it is narrower) which is why it gets replaced with the business car holder.
