shao_khan
I thought the car schedule had been changed to the earlier interval of 60k rather than 80k.

shao_khan
If it were me then I'd probably get it done at 60 - safe that way.
Tomk
right have spoken to VW myself and they say 80k.... mmm oh well ! just shows what the dealers know, ive phoned 5 dealers and 2 said it must be done at 60k other 3 said ( after they checked with vw it was 80k ) so hope that helps people ! Wobby
I guess it depends how you drive, but the 150bhp model must give the belt more "stick". IMO, i wouldn't risk any diesel engine to 80k. If it was mine it would be changed at 60k regardless of what VW say . If you go for the 80k, get it in writing from the dealers that specify 80k. That way if it goes wrong you wont spend the next 2 years arguing over it!!
benjie
The general rule is 60k for all diesels. DON'T risk it because you will end up paying for it. Also, go to a VW specialist - generally better service and loads cheaper!
Rustynuts
2004 model year is 80k miles belt change interval. Tom, look in the owners manual, and it'll tell you whether it needs 60k or 80k change. In the service schedule.
