nhs
All my nice metal valve caps "disappeared" in a car park yesterday...... Irritating but true, probably the local Pikeys I suspect they are now happily installed on a Corsa or Pug Anyone else had this happen to their GTI? nutkins
Sounds to me like you've been lucky, 3 out of 4 of mine were gone within an hour of picking up the car! I got some from Halfrauds that require a tool to put them on and take them off. The they just spin round if you try and take them off by hand. SamD
Something like this ought to stop it happening again locking valve caps

stevie_d
Mine have been stolen so many times, but they only take 2 each time, grrr!!!
Tarmac_Terrorist
I put those Richbrook locking valve caps on mine since new - so far they're still in place. The titanium ones match the 18" Monza's well and are easy to clean. Sell them in Halfrauds too.
petsy
I actually like the oem ones as they allow you to deflate the tyre if overpressured...

RedRobin
Sam > That link is a good 'un! Richbrook products are usually excellent. I don't fancy having to remove the tyres just to change the valves though....On the other hand why not wait and change them when new tyres are needed. Also: Richbrook valve cap range
SamD
You don't need to replace the valves with the Anti Theft Caps I dont think. They just have a sleeve aroudn them that spins when you try to turn it, the special tool locks it in place to allow them to be removed.
Spot
That's correct, Sam - takes a few seconds longer that's all to check pressures - money well spent - if only for the satisfaction of denying a small scrote the pleasure.... SamD
I guess the only risk with any "anti-theft" product is that the potential theif gets annoyed and then just commits midless vandalism instead (i.e scratching your motor). Spot
Very true, I thought that after I'd typed it! Mind you I think the valve cap nickers are usually kids wanting the caps as trophies? Whatever happened to the birch?

[/ QUOTE ] Don't understand... Are you talking about the plastic valve cap with non-return valve ? As I didn't think you could release pressure without removing the cap. Are we talking about the same thing. A pic. would be useful.
petsy
no, I mean the litte circular elevation at the closed end of the valve cap. if you over-inflate your tyre, just pust the closed end into the valve and the elevated portion allow you to release air from the tyre.
