The ignition lights come on then go off and the radio says safe mode. Any ideas - i'm worried! When the car is running the lecy will flow thru the battery and elec system, its only when you turn off and try a restart that you find the proble. pomme Posted September 14, 2006 Report Share Posted September 14, 2006 Thats exactly what mine does when its a flat battery, if you have means of charging it then i would suggest doing that for around 30 mins. But whatever the problem is i would take it into your local vw and get then=m to look at it and change whatever the problem is under warranty.
