BITTU Posted September 15, 2006 Report Share Posted September 15, 2006 Ive had this problem twice with my bora now. when ive left it in reverse after parking up, the following day when ive tried getting the car into neutrel before starting it it the gear stays stuck in reverse. only minutes of effort get it into neutrel. an1 know why thats happenning? The handbrake works on the rear disks (obviously) and if the disks are hot when you park up, then cool down, they contract. This means the handbrake is less tight and if parked on a hill the car can roll against the gears, effectively locking the gearbox. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

BITTU Posted September 15, 2006 Author Report Share Posted September 15, 2006 Its in reverse because its on a hill. Thanks rusty i think thats it.
