Since having our BT Home Hub broadband installed (and now being satisfied with the compensation deal from them for it not delivering what it should - per the IT forum and Broadband thread)....

I have a PC set-up in a room used as a study. For the last 6 months it has got less and less used, to the point that the machine in there hasn't been on for the last 2 weeks. We now use laptops wirelessly off the home hub.

So, my lovely Dell 2005FPW 20" Widescreen Monitor is up for sale. It's simply wasted. It's probably been on for less than a week in the 10 months I've owned it! I thought of keeping it for watching DVD's on and so on, but the fact there is another TV in the very same room...with a DVD player attached to...makes that a bit pointless.

So, you can see I bought it only last November per the thread HERE. Its as good as new, and as good as any I think you could find. Its a truly stunning monitor in terms of design and display.

However - god knows where I put the box for it, because I can't find it anywhere. So, if anyone buys it then I'm not going to post it. Its simply far too risky to send something like this and I'm not going to spend hours packaging it all up - just for some idiot of a courier man to stand on it.

I'll be at the Buxton Meet this weekend, so if you're going to that then I'd happily bring it along. Otherwise, I guess you'd have to be relatively local to me.

Second hand there is one on eBay already over £200 and with bidding still continuing (plus delivery). At least with this one you know you'll get it and you know it's going to work and is in superb condition.

Price

So it's up for £200 - no offers please, because I'll not move on that price. It cost double that new.

I'll also be selling the PC (a 3Ghz Shuttle XPC with Windows XP Pro, 1gb of RAM, DVD writer etc) once I get my files and applications off it. So if you might be interested in that then drop me a PM.

Just a note - the PC mentioned seems to be attracting a lot of interest! Four PM's on it already!

So here is brief run down of the PC to save me having to type any more PM's!

Shuttle XPC Ice Blue Edition (very small, very compact, transparent Ice Blue fascia on it)

Intel Pentium 4 HT 3GHz CPU

1gb RAM (I think it's DDR266 but I can't remember)

48x24x48 CD ROM

x16 DVD ROM

128mn nVidia GeForce4 TI SE graphics card

Realtek NIC

Modem, blah, blah

Avance AC97 Sound card

UBL Subwoofer and chromed satellite speakers (very cool)

Windows XP Professional

Also - it'll come with two stunning keyboard/mouse packs. The first is the one I've used, a Logitech DiNovo wireless suite (Bluetooth) with keyboard, media pad and mouse. However, I was all set to change this because it's very worn (oh, and the battery charger for the mouse has packed in) and I had spent £75 on a Microsoft Optical Wireless MediaPack, the Executive Edition, with keyboard, mouse etc. Then I couldn't be arsed to set it up. So thats boxed, unopened and brand new!

The machine is very quick by most standards, but perhaps not up to JT standards! It eats Photoshop for breakfast though, so it'll suit 99% of people I'm sure!

Price

I'll take £250 for it. It was well over a grand new as it was custom specced.

NOTE: TWO ERRORS CORRECTED. It's not a DVD Writer, it's purely a CD-RW. Thanks to JT too I've corrected the CPU spec because it only appears to Windows to be two processors, when its actually a single Intel 4 Hyper-Threading 3ghz CPU

Oh, and if someone wants to take them both, then I'll do them combined for £425. Thats a very very nice system for a very low price, so don't say I'm not nice.

Photo of the PC (you can see the monitor in the other thread that is linked in the initial advertisement post).

Another note! I knew I had a DVD writer somewhere. Well I've just found it. It's not connected to the PC, I don't know if it still works but see no reason why it shouldn't, so I'll throw that in too cos' MrsMe says the room has to be completely clear of 'that IT rubbish you're hoarding'. yelrotflmao.gif

I'm finding allsorts I forgot I ever had!
