Sparky
A friend is currently spec'ing up a new A3 and has opted for the CD based sat nav with glove box mounted ipod console, but Audi are saying this isn't compatible. Is there anyway to have the iPod adaptor and the CD based Sat-Nav? Seems a bit restrictive. It appears OK if he upgrades to the DVD-based SatNav, but this adds nearly another £800. Can anyone suggest anything here? He doesn't really want to shell out for the DVD system as it takes him over his allowance (company car). Cheers for any assistance. PetrolDave
Order the car with a Symphony II and the glovebox mounted iPod console, and get craigyb to swap the Symphony II for a DVD Sat Nav. Then sell the Symphony II on eBay.
Sparky
It is an option, but with it being a new company car purchase I don't think they are allowed to do that.
craigyb
Is it perhaps because there is no room. Only one CD changer slot? I guess, not knowing how the new system is configured that you could always add the Ipod interface at a later date as a lead and not as a cradle. If the the HU supports the CD changer interface you can add an audi lead for £100 for the ipod. But I would need to check the wiring diagrams
Sparky
It's making it sound like there is no input on the CD-based SatNav unit. I've attached the spec list to see if it helps you as we're not certain what it means. Any ideas?
