Speedywheels
Got back this afternoon from Philadelphia and went straight to the delaer to pick up the new car. Had a quick drive in it but didn't go too far as I was pretty tired from the overnight flight. Trying to stay awake by reading the manuals getting to know how the iPod works in the armrest, knowing my way around the SatNav and programming in all the radio stations I listen to. Dealer told me to try and limit it to 4200 rpm for the first 600 miles and then build up from there for the next 400 miles. Does that sound right ? Speedywheels
Think I'll wait for next weekend - go North up to Braemar and then further up towards the Moray coast. I want to familiarise myself with all the buttons first

Tarmac_Terrorist
She looks great Speedywheels - the best colour in my opinion - classy and purposeful. Those 'zorsts do seem to poke out nicely - mind your legs don't get burnt when going into the boot!

Nice choice mate and hope you get loads of fun out of it

Speedywheels
[ QUOTE ] Lovely car and excellent colour choice if I might say so [/ QUOTE ] Very similar colour to my previous car, which was a silver grey E46 M3. IMO the car looks understated, which is a good thing. Here's another pic taken nice and early this morning

Speedywheels
[ QUOTE ] Looking good and sourced from the same Dealer as me ! [/ QUOTE ] Yes TP, Scott sorted me a good hassle free deal. The numpties at Perth never returned my call or e-mails so they lost out on an opportunity for my business. Although I'm sure they are out there, I've not seen another .:R32 Mk V on the road in Dundee - not like the M3 which was becoming ubiquitous. jaKel
Great pics of the car!! Hope to get mine around the middle of november. I've also ordered the sat nav with the ipod connection. Does the ipod connection look like it fits any size of ipod?? Curious to know, the dealer seemed unsure. Any pics of the Ipod mounting in the armrest?? Cheers, Jakel. eldiablorubino
As far as i'm aware all iPods (except the iPod Shuffle) use the same universal dock connector. Certainly any iPod bought in the last 3 years (3G onwards) will be fine...

Speedywheels
TP - there was a 5 door in there for a while, it was sold the week before mine arrived. Mine was there last week waiting for me while I was in the States. Ipod install is great - it will take all versions apart from the shuffle. You are provided with shims to get a firm fit and these work fine.
Speedywheels
here's the iPod fit - I have a 60Gb video so it needed one thin shim at the back (at the top on photo) and the plate at the front. This is how the display looks when playing the iPod Here's a view of the interior of the car as requested

Speedywheels
[ QUOTE ] Whats your early opinion mate, considering the power drop from the M3 [/ QUOTE ] Well it's not run in yet but I know it will never match the M3 for power and acceleration. IMO the E46 M3 is a superb package that has no equal in terms of price, performance, versatility and looks. After owning 2 M3s, I decided to move to pastures new so here I am sitting in an .:R32. For my 8000 miles/year, I think it will be a car that will put a smile on my face and not such a hit in the wallet. I intend to keep the .:R32 for 3 years when my financial position should change (mortgage paid off) and allow me to look in the M3 direction again. Just can't wait to get the thing run in and listen to that V6 screaming at 6000rpm
jaKel
Thanks for the pics speedywheels. The ipod docking ones are very useful. Was worried that the new video ipods wouldn't fit the dock. Whats the other area in the armrest for? It looks like it has three vents or something in it?
