jamesR
Spent hours with claybar, shampoo, paint cleanser, magic fairy dust etc. Now in the sun black GTI has a distinct bronze appearance. Anyone else noticed this? Does 'pearl effect' mean 'bronze effect' ?
stevie_d
bronze effect? Can you take some pictures please? I've not properly cleaned/waxed mine yet, but I've never had a bronze effect.
eldiablorubino
I've seen photos of this before in the cleaning forum... think it was JohnnyGTI IIRC...
JonnyGTi
Yes, it's the metallic flake in the paint. Catch it in the sun at the right angle, with clean paintwork, and it' quite distinct. I use Pinnacle Souveran wax which seems to really bring the flake out . This is what you mean : and in the shade, normal colour :

jamesR
Thats the bronze effect I was talking about. I also used the Pinnacle Souveran wax. (Havent got the hang of posting photos, at appropriate size photos are to pixelated! But there dont seem to be shortage of pics above)
winrya
[ QUOTE ] Very nice Ryan...love the 18"s on black What colour would you describe the flake in your first photo as, if not bronze ? [/ QUOTE ] I can see it slightly in the photo but in natural light it looks more like a white/grey hue. I'll take a closer look next time the sun comes out. RedRobin
Colour effect is greatly influenced by lighting conditions and each of us may see colour differently than another. A metallic or pearlescent finish will increase the variety of colour effects we see. Cue for someone to make witty comments about my bright pink car .
