Simonl
Just been spending a bit of time out in LA, and I love these cars. They look incredibly cool in a utilitarian kind of way. It's boxy Tonka toy looks just stand out a mile in this day and age. I'd love to own one. They were everywhere out there, they must be doing well enough to justify an EU launch. Apparently it comes in 2WD and 4WD guise. Oh BTW, I had coffee and lunch with Pammy in her back garden overlooking Malibu beach... thought i was in a dream, will explain why in due course. gotta run now! RedRobin
Just a few hours ago I posted in the GTI forum in response to one of petsy's many witty comments - Where's that other wit LeMan disappeared to?! Funky looking Honda . Reminds me of a miniature Hummer!
Atomic
Replace funky with odd and I'd agree.
RedRobin
....Funky as in Highly Functional. Would be ideal for humping music gear etc but I would miss the GTI's performance far too much.
DanG
Have a look at an FX35 (Infinity)..... You know one when you hear it... same engine as the Z350 and new Skyline with tuned exhaust and all wheel drive. Tiny boot, buy one of my favorite SUV's.. The Murano is avaliable in the US too (I saw stacks in NY last year). My Dad has a Murano, I have to say it is a mighty impressive vehicle (especially considering the cost!) R32North
Diskson of Dunblane import them! I'm up there quite regular and see them in the Garage forecourt and showroom!

RedRobin
Yuk! I don't like the look of the Nissan Murano - It looks like a high-lift new Honda Civic imo. That Honda Element looks much more down-to-earth and 'honest'.

NeilB
Honda have said the Element won't be available in the UK. You can import them from Japan though.

RedRobin
I love that Element and want to see more pics. Both LeMan and I are Designers and Art Directors (though I'm retired) - That must tell you something about our good taste . I just found this web site: HERE - It's absolutely fabulous and I would have probably bought one if it had been out before my GTI. It looks perfect for my use but just not fast - that's the only minus I can see.

Simonl
[ QUOTE ] Honda Element, Nissan Note, Ford Cube Horrible looking things! [/ QUOTE ] I can fully understand your opinions as my wife shares them too But you really have to see them in the flesh. You find yourself staring and thinking, "I really shouldn't like them, but i really do" they're just so different and... square! I actually think they're the most interesting car on the streets of LA right now. It's been designed with cost in mind too, half the panels are left unpainted, and you can spec the interior raw (eg: no carpets etc), it can actually be hosed down... pretty gnarley huh! As for the FX35, i saw one in Sardinia and it looked sensational. They are actually launching Infiniti in the UK so it should be here soon anyway. I could definately have one. Very different to the Murano too, if you see them side by side that is.
