JonnyTDI
Just for humour really ... Audi have had my A3 2.0 TDI DSG (with 4,000 on the clock) in for the past 10 days, and have "reproduced the problem" - which I think means that they managed to smoke screen the whole of their car park Tests results have gone back to Audi, and ... some more tests are being done now In the meantime, I have been given an '06 A4 2.0T Estate S-Tronic or Tip-Tronic?? Not sure which, but boy it is quick and rorty!! And just as smooth as the DSG (err ... a LOT smoother than the TDI DSG!!!!!), and far quicker at all speeds than the TDI DSG. It appears to have some sort of "overdrive" - in D at 80 does about 1,800 revs in 7th gear(?), move it to S and the revs go up to 3,000 but it is still in 7th gear. Floor it and it goes into 4th up to 6,500 revs Still getting 30 mpg out of it. JonnyTDI
JonnyTDI
"It might be something to do with the turbo, we will keep you informed". Oh well, at £100 a day for the hire car, seems an expensive route they are taking.
JonnyTDI
Hopefully closure on this one ... "The turbo has been condemned and will be replaced under warranty. Should be ready at the end of next week. Any problems, give us a call". Well, nice manner at least, shame it has taken 4 weeks to actually get a fix, 3 of which they have had the car!
