mgoliver(aka Beermeister)
Houston....... we have a problem... driving today, when accelerating, turbo kicks in, and engine "stutters".... reminded me to a coil pack failure, with the difference that only does it when turbo kicks in. If under 3000rpm, no problem. If accelerated smoothly, no pro... ANY SUGGESTIONS????????? What worries me most, is that it does not always stutter.... Paul
could be coil struggling to spark against the increased pressure in the cylinder on boost????? ie starting to break down? just a guess. could be a sign ones on its way out..... mgoliver(aka Beermeister)
well..... do not think so..coils should work independently of the pressure going into the cylinder........ and, below turbo RPM, engine revs fine, and even over that, engine revs up, the power is there, but stuttering....... AL B
Mark, My car exhibits this momentary loss of boost during acceleration - I always attributed it to the DV not responding quick enough. But I guess it could be a coil pack on the way out. How did you determine which coil pack was faulty? Cheers AL
simon elman
Hi I suffer too. The problem is that when I decelerate at about 3000 rpm The car surges slightly. From turbo to off-turbo. May be a sticky d.v. ???? Help please. Simon S3 mtm P.S. Dont take put your car on a 2-wheel rolling road.
mgoliver(aka Beermeister)
Take the car to Audi, they will plug the VAG, and will let you know which cylinder is missfiring...... Just pray it si not a coil pack, since there are not any in the world...... till February 2003
