ysabelle
After taking delivery of my special edition B7 I am naturally concerned about the welfare of my wheels. Like em or loathe em on the spec edition I want to be sure that they STAY on the vehicle. I once had a focus ST170 who's wheels I thought were safe because they had a mcGard type OE locking wheel nut. One night the local pikeys removed them with suprising ease. They even left the 'locking' wheel nut at the side of the road for me - minus the wheels of course! I since found out that every ford dealership and rapid fit outlet etc have a master key with about 8 combinations capable of unlocking EVERY ford alloy wheel! Do Audi do the same or can I relax at night?
Milo
Not safe at all. There are 10 combinations (3 if you use a hammer ). If you're worried about getting your wheels pinched then invest in a set of aftermarket locking screws.

ysabelle
Damn! Time to invest in some McGard SL's..... does anyone have the correct part # ??
UBM
I believe they actually increased the different Audi combinations a while ago from 8 to 12. You need both these and McGuards to be sure!
andymacc
Hi I recently fitted McGard nuts to mine just make sure you get the proper OEM fitting nuts and NOT the after market alloy nuts as the seating on the wheels is different. jwo
If you go onto the mcgard website there is a bolt sizing faciltiy that will ensure you get the correct ones! Defo go for the mcgard evo sl ones - they are allegedly the best. (article in sunday times in gear section which mentions them as the best too!)
