DHA
Anyone been? Heard it is quite nice but would rather not be surronded by a) kids b) old grannies. Looking for somewhere to sit on a beach for a week that I can fly direct to from the UK. Wondering if the pink sands are a nice place to go. Mac
Erm, no, I didn't like it. Also, it's colder than you imagine Well the water is anyway. I'd rather go to the Carribean. What about Turks/Cacos?
Guest PeterPiper
Just back from a week there. It's a great island, fabulous beaches, sea temperatures are now dropping. You need to be aware that you cannot rent a car, only mopeds, and roads pretty busy and congested at rush hour (only if you are in Hamilton). It's not cheap. If you are thinking of going now, it's out of season. Remember, it is more than a 1000 miles to the carribean. More than happy to give more info if you want to pm me. Have to say we liked it, but as we got married whilst there, you could say we are biased.
scillyisles
Been there many times and yes the beaches are really pink. Stayed at numerous places but I'd recommend staying at a self catering chalet/apartment. Bermuda does'nt tend to be full of grannies or kids as it's not exactly cheap. Best times to go are late spring early summer and if you go in summer the water is most definetly warm. Snorkelling is good and getting around the island on moped/scooter is great fun as you can park them anywhere. There is pleny to do for a 7 -10 day trip. Islanders are very friendly and everything works unlike certain parts of the Caribbean.
