2000 miles in and i f'in love this car!

its faster than i ever imagined and handles like a dream. With those tyres the ride is fine on smooth roads, but if you hit a bump you know all about it. Turn the tractions crap off and its awseome.

Cant decide whether to get a slight tint on the windows or not ? And i couldnt help but order the //M front end so that should be on maybe just after christmas. Ill update the photos then.

For anyone who cares i have a k800i and the bluetooth works perfectly with it. No hitches at all.

The nav is excellent and the bmw assist is way more useful than i thought it would be. The way they know exactly where you are when you phone is kinda freaky. And the way they send you the details of your destination direct into the navigation along with the phone number is supreme.

Sound system is adequate but no more or no less. Playing mp3 direct from cd is nice.

Idrive can be a little slow but the voice activation kit really helps alot and works flawlessly so long as there is little background noise.

Im getting 33 to the gallon now and by no means do i drive anything other than fast 99% of the time. Drove to belgium the other day and on the motorways was getting 37mpg cruising at over 100 mph.

Reached 150 mph no problem when pushed.

One or two negative points.

The silver paint on the drum of the brake discs is flaking on one, and i will be demanding a replacement.

There is a small weird vibrating noise every so often but this only happend since the tracker was installed so i think they may have screwed something up.

My insurance is cheaper than on my previous car which was a 525d for some weird reason and it gets better fuel. Weird but nice.

Hope that helps for anyone interested.

Nice to hear you're still so impressed. Got mine on friday and had a great weekend. I was really surprised by the ride on those wheels, not bad at all. Hit several severe ruts and i can report both kidneys were still in place. I'll watch those hubs; can't be as bad as the RX8's that Iv'e just had though.....they were shocking, rusted in no time at all.

Not had a chance to cane it yet, can't wait. I'm just looking after the tenth owner as he smokes round the council estate in 2016....should be nice.

which speaker pack did you go for?

I have Logic 7 Hifi I feel its really quite good....As does a mate who goes in for these ICE competitions in his Mk2 Golf (VR6 transplant), and often wins.

i just went for the standard one as i will be putting my own equipment in as soon as i get the chance. Would have liked the surround system or logic 7 but i really had to stop somewhere.

Works nice when you link in the ipod. Wish there was some interface for it on the idrive though. I say wish, i think there is an option but i didnt see it.

did any of you guys drive a 335i first. What made ye choose the diesel. Im meant to be finalising my order tomorro. I know what spec I want but im undecided whether to go for saphire black, alpine white or sparkling graphite, and whether to go for petrol or diesel. Most annoying !!!

my cousin has the petrol and i also drove it. The fuel consumption and pure ability to use the power over any rpm along with the obscene torque made me choose the diesel.

I went for the logic 7 rather than get the 19's as I thought wheels can come later but retrofitting DSP and 13 speakers would be tricky...and I am not that keen on the 18's & 19's that are on offer. I did ask if I could have some of the current M-sport wheels but that wasn't going to happen.

Current OBC consumpton on Ultimate diesel is showing 41.5 MPG after 360 miles...but I don't do hardly any stop start traffic driving which helps a fair bit.

I drove a 335i and thought it was sensational, but didn't drive the 335d because there wasn't one available. I ordered mine because of fuel, although I accept that's a bit daft on a 40K car, but mainly because of the easy torque of the diesel that suits daily driving more. I've come from an RX8 which was great if you were in the mood, but mostly I wasn't so that's affected my choice somewhat. 19 inch wheels are fine and they look great with dark colours. Spec front parking sensors, I didn't but wish i had.

I should think also that the residual value would better on the 335 for the above reasons. It's really a no brainer. Of course close analysis of my car buying past will show me to be a complete arse and mention of residuals and the like will have my friends laughing out load........but don't tell the wife shocked.gif
