P_G
Sorry, have to have a rant about Colebrook & Burgess and how utterly useless they are. Yesterday on the TSN NE meet TDiAvant was kind enough to run VAG-COM on my car. Now as some know, it had problems at AMD but they cleared the fault codes and I thought no more of it after it was booked in newcastle Audi and they gave it a clean bill of health. However to be safe, I asked for it to be done for which I thank TDiAvant. Sure enough, 15 engine fault codes, all injectots, air flow sensors, engine mounting solenoids, well it was disappointing. So straight on the phone at 8.30am this morning to advise what was wrong. Spoke to one of the girls in servicing who kindly gave me her E-mail address to E-mail the fauilts over which I did. I was told I would receive a call once she had printed off after receiveing my E-mail in the next 5 minutes Now I purposely put a read receipt on the E-mail to see when it would be actioned. E-mail sent at 9.12 am. 10.00am, no read receipt..... 10.55am read recipt returned, at last some action. 12.00, no call, 1.00 no call. 2.00 no call, 3.00 no call... well you get the idea by now. I end up putting in a call to Audi at 4.15pm to be told she hasn't printed off the E-mail but will do so now and show it to the technician if I hold on the line. 5 minutes later I get passed on to the technician. 'Can I help?' 'I hope so, have tyou looked at the VAG-COM diagnostic I have sent you?' 'I've just had a scan through but not looked at it properly' 'Well if you have a look at it it has 15 engine fault codes which 5 weeks ago you said weren't there. I'd like to know what's causing them.' ' I see you have a big bore exhaust, that probabaly what it is.' 'The exhaust has nothing to do with it, it is mostly injector faults and if it were the case, why is it running higher bhp and torque figures now than standard?' 'Have you ghad the car remapped because that would cause the problem and we wouldn't be able to do the work under warranty' 'No, it hasn't been remapped and the ECU hasn't bee accessed' For the fact all faults come up as short to ground wouldn't that indidcate a wiring or intermittent signal carrier problem?' 'I don't know, we'll have to book your car in for the day to look at it' Well FFS! So it's now booked in for Monday (the first time they have a courtesy car) and of course logical option is to see if I could get one of their S6's for the day. To which I get 'I'm sorry but they are not taxed so you would have to be accompanied by a sales consultant, let me put you through' 'Hello, I understand you want to test drive an S6?' 'Yes' 'Well make a not of the name Laura and when you are in ask for her and she'll take you out in the car, OK?' 'Great (NOT)!' End of conversation, guy hangs up. Now is it just me of are this lot totally and utterly sh!te. I am livid, not only because the monkeys can't diagnose my car properly or even take it seriously, but what dealers in their right mind don't tax their demonstrators! AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH! TDiAvant
Most C&B dealers are sh!te, I had my car in to fix a dash board rattle, which has stopped, but now the aircon fan in the dash is making a noise. The sales guy's try and sell a prestige brand, but the service guy’s give you the finger. That was my last dealing with C&B for servicing and repairs etc, and I’m going to try and buy my parts from vag-parts. I hate C&B and I hope they lose the Audi franchise. eldavo69
Told you my story on Sunday (I think) regarding them never getting back to me to sort out the paint fault. After nearly 2 weeks of it not possibly being a factory fault I spent a further 2 weeks of them not calling me back. In the end I visited the dealers so often to chase it up that all the girls on the service desk knew me by name and it even got to the point of them recognising my voice on the phone I had to ring them THAT often !!! And Audijohn, I wish I could take it to another dealer, but unfortunately the 4 dealers near me are all Colebrook & Burgess. I went to Newcastle Audi from Tyneside Audi as I thought they had better a servicing team, how short lived was that!
Fergy
oh feck, and I was hoping to get my front end rattle sorted by tyneside.
P_G
It's a bit of a trek fergy but your could try Wearside. They still have some ex Mill mechanics there I beleive, they may do a decent job albeit that they are now C&B.
TDiAvant
I would give Sunderland a try. I've used them once and there is lad in the office who uses them on a regular basis with no problems.
Milo
Colebrook & Burgess bodyshop are on their last warning After my better half managed to reverse her car into mine it had to go in for a wee bit fettling. Nothing major but it involved removing the front bumper. When I picked it up one of the headlights wasn't fitted correctly, there were scratches on the wing and the gaps between the bumper and wings were not satisfactory in my opinion. They took it back and sorted the paintwork out, adjusted the headlamp and removed and refitted the bumper. Well they over compensated for the light and knocked the alignment out (did they not think to check it before handing it over?) and I'm still not happy with the front bumper fit. Everyone who has looked at it thinks I'm mad but at the end of the day, I'm a perfectionist and it's not right. I went back in today to give them a 3rd attempt at putting it right. It was suggested the headlight misalignment was my fault for asking for it to be refitted The fella then sucked his teeth at the front bumper and said they can't adjust them as they only refit them on the pegs which are there. I then pointed out in that case the gaps should be perfect as they were perfect before they touched it. The original damage was confined to a very small area and was on the opposite side to where the problem now is. "Ah, but we've only got your word it was perfect sir." Wrong answer feckwit. I took loads of pictures of the whole front end before it went in . They show the gaps to be 100% cock on. Net result is I've emailed the pictures to them. I've told them keep the car for a whole day (this Friday) and make sure it comes back with panel gaps as per my photos. After all, in his own words they're fitting the bumper on the same locating pegs it came off so how hard can it be? Best of all, I've rang Mrs Milo's insurance and told them not to pay C & B's invoice as the workmanship is not up to scratch and I'd ring them later this week to update them. C & B said "you can't do that". Tough sh1t, I have. Whether they'll actually withold payment (£700) if the car is not right after Friday is another thing. However it should give C & B a little bit of an incentive to get the job right this time. What with this and the fiasco ordering the car, I very much doubt I'll ever be able to purchase another Audi locally as long as they control all the franchises

jimdiesel
Harrogate are a recent addition to the Sytner Group. They where bought off Mike Massingberg, so they may not have fallen into the Sytner way yet.
Milo
C & B have redeemed themselves today. The xenons now point where they were intended to and all the panel gaps have been closed up as tight as a drum. Why it took them 3 attempts is a mystery Especially after the first time when they said there was absolutely nothing they could do as there was no adjustment on the front bumper
Fergy
glad to hear its sorted. P_G
Well, the S4 went in this morning for the fault codes to be checked and was handed the keys to an A3 1.9TDi SE Sportback. What a gutless engine it has, I'm sure I've driven better 1.9 TDi's. Anyway, just had the call to say they would like to keep my car overnight and that they have just updated the ECU software as the faults sporadically appear so hopefully the update will take care of this but they will need the car longer to perform more tests. Funny that when it was in five weeks ago the software was fine along with the rest of the car. I've also noted the mileage on the car, didn't reset DIS though. Let's see how many miles they chalk up 'testing' the car this time.
TDiAvant
Just make sure they refil your tank.
Fergy
well Ive delayed the car going in as the problem is apparent for such a short period...ie less than 10 secs when reversing out the garage and when cold then disappears. So if they move it from cold to the workshop then yes it will occur but then its another day before they can repeat. Ill do a little more research myself as to occurence before letting them loose on it. Probably when my second AVS service is due in 77days
