Servicing Costs!!!

I know that this has been discussed on here many times before, but I still have to ask...

"Why do we pay Audi to service our cars?"

I have a B6 A4 Avant with 92k on the clock. I just rang up for a quote at Coventry and Northampton Audi for a service. Cov was £310 "ish" and Northampton was £400!!!

This included, oil, fuel, pollen filters, oil, oh and to justify the price they started harping on about screenwash levels, tyre pressures and valet, plus a few other checks on the vehicle, and the labour rate was 98.50+vat!!!

What would you do? Its been Audi serviced so far, so I feel like I don't want to break the pattern, but for a few filters and some oil it seems ludicrous!!!! confused.gif

Hehe - in your dreams does it drop - had my 8 year old A4 1.8 TS serviced by Audi just before i sold it - labour was up near £100 an hour plus vat.

Just had my 3 year old S4 serviced by Audi - should last for a good 18 months - doubt i will get it Audi serviced next time - doesnt really seem to affect trade in values at all - so a complete waste of money after the car is 3 years old im my opinion.

I was going to get my Cambelt and 4th Service done next week by Audi originally as I didn't think Sports-Tech had any cars I could borrow. Rang Derby, John Fox Nottingham and Stoke Audi. The price for both varied between £900-£1000. FIREdevil.gif

Not happy at this, I called Sports-Tech and found out they've got a car I can borrow plus they can save me a whopping £400. If you're not that far away (Cov is around 60 miles I think) then it might be worth a trip up. Top notch service, very flexible times and the car gets a clean afterwards! grin.gif

My partners car is going in on the 4th dec at Ipswich, its a 2.0SE Avant 53 plate with about 26k on the clock (i think),this is the 2nd service and i got quoted £193.80 and £55 brake fluid, not bad seening it worked out cheaper than my Golf Turbo, and even my Fiat Punto 1200cc ????.

Or maybe they meant £193 a hour. lol

[ QUOTE ]

On the variable servicing, how do I know if I need a full or intermediate service? I've been quoted £80-£240 depending, as the oil is more expensive for long life.

[/ QUOTE ]

There are no such things anymore strictly speaking - the Audi dealership should know what is needed based on how many services you've had before. Oil is needed every time so this should not change between services.
