VW dealer - Haywards Heath

Time for a quick write-up on aftersales care from the VW Caffyns Group (Haywards Heath) dealership. The reason for this is that they have been excellent.

I bought the .:R from another dealer in the Caffyns group and found their sales side very good - they always called back when asked to, got my order in very early and collection was simple and quick.

Unfortunately they (very quickly) showed nothing like the same level of service from the aftersales side so I went to the HH dealer.

They have since taken the car in for the following :

1.) Align xenons as factory adjustment was wrong. No complaints from service manager - all done on the spot at 5.30pm one evening.

2.) Adjust xenons for UK/Euro driving combined. This involved around 1.5 hours of effort which they did for free.

3.) Investigate concerns about paint defect, service/warranty mgrs spent at least 4 hours investigating, plus paint specialist consulted. Clay-bar fixed the problem.

4.) Fix rattly dash, nasty rattle from rear of car and creaky sunroof - dash was great first time, sunroof rattle fixed but alignment wrong. Rear-rattle not fixed, car rebooked.

5.) Sunroof realigned perfectly, rattle still not present. Rear rattle fixed and not reappeared in 20 miles since collection.

All in all very impressed with the efforts Carryns HH have put in - and they have had nothing in servicing business from me.

Thought it reasonable to praise a VW dealer - I've had severe problems in the past with another franchise and this lot have saved the reputation for the time being. Also they were very willing to discuss and approve fitting of Milltek cat-back, quoting "we've had plenty of MkIV R32's in here with the cat-back Milltek, no problem sir."

They supplied me with a courtesy car and thats about as far they went with me, even tho the car was in warrenty they didn't want to touch it, due to them losing money etc. I personally don't think much of the caffyns group, i have used the Portslade one on a number of occasions and they are quite frankly useless aswell. I yet to find a helpful dealer.
