lights on warning beep

the warning noise that tells you your lights are on when you exit your car wont work and also the drivers red light on the bottom of the door isnt working

one of my friends went to jump his car and accidently touched the neg to pos and pos to neg since then the problems have occured

my car is a 52 plate golf gt tdi

Sounds like your door lock module has gone. The only reason the car beeps when you leave the lights on is because the door lock module tells the car you've opened the door - the car thinks you've forgotten about the lights and warns you. It's a common problem - go to your local vw specialist - about £130 to fix if I remember correctly (£200+ from a dealer)

(The car won't beep if you open the door with the lights on and the key in the ignition)

what about the red light is that also the door lock module

Yes, the module tells the lights whether the door's open or not - same problem.

I have got the same problem with mine in that the lights left on warning buzzer is not working and both red lights in both the driver and passenger doors are not working,if this is controlled by the door locking module where is this located.The other interior lights are working fine.

It's located in the door itself - it's the door lock. Tough if both of yours aren't working Iggy, it might mean soething to do with the comfort control module, but I'm not sure.
