RedRobin
....Yuk!!!! Not to my taste, especially the interior and contrived instrumentation. Shouldn't this be in a different forum?
silentandy
[ QUOTE ] Turbo and supercharged 1.4-litre TSI unit delivers 210bhp [/ QUOTE ] Imagine what they could do with a 2.0 TSI then!
SL26UK
I throught i would be posting it in the wrong forum, just wondering what you people think about it compared with your GTI.
RedRobin
Hi SL88GTI For anyone who has chosen a 5-door Mk5 GTI I would say that the Scirocco is a non-starter. I expect that it'll be a great piece of automotive engineering but I hate the interior as shown and most of the body styling. As Andy has pointed out, the TSI engine sounds very promising and may well find itself in the Mk6 GTI.....Perish the thought!!
shao_khan
Looks good with some great inovation in that engine - but as with engine a great product supported by muppets is fraught with problems
Tarmac_Terrorist
I really like it! Hope there is room for a couple of kiddie seats in the back. However, I suspect that the price will be prohibitive for me. I always felt the Corrado was over priced in its day. As for the TSI engine, I'm sure it'll be a cracker. My 1.4 TSI Golf with only 140 bhp is quite nippy and fun to drive as an every day car...210bhp must go like a train and make some lovely whooshing & whizzing noises too

[/ QUOTE ] I was hinted at that a 1.6 was co-developed with the 1.4 I wait and see how troublesome this twincharger unit becomes theres too many things having to turning on and off all the time for my liking. Theres also going to be alot of forces on that engine. I wait too see how high milage ones fare. What i found funny was that VW made all these claims about its Co2 etc of this wonderful tecnology then PSA bring out that 1.6 Turbo in the Bini and 207 and its far less Co2 granted the golfs heavier but still
Rayza
I really, really, really like this, but then most concepts look fantastic inside out, it's when they are put into production that really counts.

If the 3.2/3.6 rumours are true for this little number then i might.....might consider letting my beloved R32 move in the other direction
