Dash Problem

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can help, I’ve got an annoying clicking sound coming from the passenger side in the dash in my Mk4.

I've taken it to my dealer and they have said there is no problem. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Does the sound disappear if you turn the climatronic off? If yes does it sound like a cd player shuffling disks? If yes then its the motor on the recirculation valve gone faulty. It will show an error code if they plug the computer into the car.

I got mine done whilst it was still under warranty, so I dont know how much it costs to fix.

EDIT : My bill says V71 flap motor faulty. 3.5 hours labour!

I had mine replaced under warrenty too, apparently its quite a fidly job to do.

The climatronic is not on. The sound comes on soon as I start the car. When its a little colder it seems to get louder too! The noise seems to come from around the glove compartment, was that where yours was coming from?

The first time I took it to the garage they said it was the motors adjusting themselves, but it seemed I was arguing for nothing because they kept telling me it’s what the car is supposed to do. I tried to get a second opinion from another garage but they said the same thing.

Luckily I still have the warranty left on the car so im going to get it booked in. Which garage did you go to get ours done?
