big_guy
Hello everyone, its been a while since I posted and I'm glad to say I'm the proud owner of a fantastic car (MY07)! She's just coming up to 2K on the clock now and I'm finally getting used to DSG, which IMHO is the finest bit of kit on a production car to date. Anway, my questions are these Is it my car or does the mirror down function not work? Do I need to get a software upgrade or something? I'm also intrigued to know whether the doors will open (if they're set to auto-lock) and I have a crash that doesn't deploy the air bags. The VW manual says they do if the air bags deploy but I can just imagine having a smack that doesn't necessarily activate the air bags and then being locked in! And lastly, what exactly does the CONV mode do? The manual is pretty vague about the details (either that or I'm being a bit thick ) Cheers, AL
kite
you can unlock the doors from inside, just pull twice. Sorry no idea about the other probs.
Tarmac_Terrorist
I'm sure it was mentioned on the R32 forum that the mirror does not tilt down when reverse selected on MY07 models. I believe it was originally thought to do so. No idea about the Conv button...sure you've not bought a GTI cabrio!
mikemod
The CONV mode ON means the windows will close if you hold the lock button on the remote down and will open if you hold the unlock button down. IIRC
DHA
Mirror dip is an option that you can set on the highline computer on my 07. You might need to turn the mirror selector to the left to get it to work. Can't fully remember at the moment.
TwoSheds
In theory if you have rear parking sensors or Lux Pack 1 or 2 the passenger side mirror should dip on engaging reverse. I'm not sure when it was actually part of factory build though as MY 2007 would have related to cars built from June 06 ish. The spec change might have occured later than June 06. silentandy
Is this available as a retro fit option? I'd like this option as I'm generally crap at parking and normally need a bus to the kerb due to avoiding scratching my beloved 18's.

[/ QUOTE ] Had my car deleivered a couple of weeks ago and am wondering exactly the same thing, mirrors don't dip when engaging reverse with DSG. It was detailed as one of the features with teh options I ordered. I thought I was being a bit dense in not getting it to work, but I guess it's not just me! SMB
I had the latest mirror software installed at the weekend and no dip of passenger mirror when reverse selected
TwoSheds
I wonder ????? If somebody has a recent build of MY2007 with either rear parking sensors, or Lux pack 1 or 2 can they try to get the passenger side mirror to dip on engaging reverse by: Moving mirror adjusting knob to position 'R' before engaging reverse. Quite often the handbook instructions are not corrected for translation to right-hand drive (As in using the tiptronic part of DSG ). I just wonder if the software is programmed for function when it recognises the mirror switch is in 'R' for the German home market. ( UK handbook still shows R) Worth a try someone ? RedRobin
....And has anyone tried the same as TwoSheds' suggestion but in position 'L' ??
trentender
The setting has to be at L for the mirror to dip on a MY07 car. Mine works, but I think this is because I have folding mirrors and Highline.

I think it is an option on the highline and you also need the mirror selector in a position.
