ahaydock
Does anyone know if this feature can be turned on and off on an 8P A3? Mine doesn't do it, but I have been given a new A3 as a loan car whilst I have some bodywork done and noticed the doors lock themselves. I have also noticed this on a couple of the new Audis I have driven recently. I know MK2 TT owners are having this feature disabled via VAG COM when they pick their cars up, so just wondered whether this feature could be switched on and off on the A3. Vertigo1
Yep the dealer can change it but they'll usually charge you for it. If you decide to have the drive-away locking enabled, you may also want to have it unlock when you remove the key from the ignition as the two go quite nicely together. Be aware that when they did mine they also enabled the bloody annoying 2-stage locking where you press the unlock once for just the driver's door and again for the rest. If you don't want this I'd mention it to them as they might do the same and assume you want it all.
ahaydock
Thanks, I am not sure that I do want it yet, but was curious to know whether it was possible... Out of interest and if you don't mind me asking how much was the charge?
R4V_S3
I was actually wondering if this can be achieved on the previous A3? I always like to lock my doors so i was hoping maybe it can be wired into the ignition.. like some aftermarket alarms
Vertigo1
I wasn't charged to change mine as I had it done at the same time they replaced my cracked cylinder head so they said they'd do it for free due to the hassle.
craigyb
Anyone with genuine VGA COM can do this also. It is possible on the old A3 and new A3 8P shape, but the method is different for both.
simon999
Dovercourt Battersea didn't charge me, but I was getting other warranty work done at the same time.
