legionrecrue
got my diesel sorted, but want to still get another second-hand car for me and my wife as the kids are all grown up and live with their own kids. nothing flash, expensive, not even a head turner, just a reliable car which will get me from a 2 b without too much hassle or expense, we are both in or late forties and don't really appreciate the 1.8 ghia, so if we can decide on something else, we have both decided to give the ghia to my daughter. so rack those brains troops and give me some good ideas, i know you'se are the best guys to ask. lottiefox
What sort of price range? I've got an older A3 1.9TDi thats pretty bog standard as my mile muncher and my mate has a new 2.0TDi A3 with all the toys - superb car. Plenty of room, plenty of torque, plenty of things you can do to them.... and top build quality.

shao_khan
IF you want a good comfortable cruiser - how about a Signum 150 tdi - good engine - good spec car and a good drive - second hand they are fab as they lose shed loads of money. JamesB
I'd have thought the first question would be what class - are you looking for something small or a big motorway cruiser, or some thing in between? Do you have any marques that you want to avoid? What will it be used for? Answer two out of three of those questions and I reckon you'll get a flood of suggestions Edited to add: OK, we posted at the same time - it has to be a reasonable size, you need to lug stuff and your budget is £2k. Old Volvo or Passat estate? Both go on forever and are low profile.
