When retrofitting the rns-e unit to a car with bose do you need a different plug and play adapter? Are there any shops in UK sell these? Does the unit have to be coded for bose if it came from a car with no bose? Lastly how do you know bose is working, does it display it on the screen at start up?

Cheers,

Terry

What head unit do you have in now? I retro-fitted an RNS-E in my A3 from a Smphony II with Bose. The adapter I got from http://shop.kufatec.de/product_info.php/info/p163_RNS-E-adapter-for-audi-a3-8p.html

Not to sure what shops there are in the UK, but from reading the forum in the past there are a few guys here that can make the leads for you and no doubt get it to you quicker than abroad.

It doesn't display anything on the screen that the Bose is connected. Just make sure the lead for the RNS-E has been made to accept a Bose feed, as it's a different pin output on the RNS-E compared to the standard speaker output. Hope this helps.

I second that. He did my car too. Fitted RNS-E, Video input, TV in motion, Bluetooth car kit. It's mint. I've had it for nearly a year now....and everything is still perfect.

If that's not enough, the dealership my aunt bought her car from actually recommended him to her independently of me! (they are based in Watford….about 200 miles away!)
