Speedywheels
Driving the other night, I switched off Cruise while it was engaged and at the same time the tyre pressure warning light illuminated. I was able to reset the light and there hasn't been a reoccurence but I haven't deliberately tried to replicate the problem. Is this anything to worry about or should I just put it down to an momentary electrical glitch ?

A similar thing happened to me the other week, only to find out a few days later that I actually had a slow puncture....

I assumed that with a reset and no recurrence of the problem that I could dismiss tyre pressures
rs32
I'm very wary of relying on the tyre pressure monitor - and check the tyres the proper way on a weekly basis. The Halfords digital pressure guage is an excellent little piece of kit and well worth the investment IMO The only time I've ever had the tyre warning light come on was after 6 laps of Castle Combe - forgot to let out some air before going on track and I think the system had a slight fit when they got up to track temperature

Mook
[ QUOTE ] CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME IF ALL MK 4 S HAVE A TYRE PRESSURE SENSOR ?AND WHERE MAY I FIND IT [/ QUOTE ] The Mk4 R32 doesn't have a tyre pressure sensor. Like Sam says, pls don't use CAPITALS as it means you're shouting.

[/ QUOTE ] Hi Speedy, nice to see that you're on here now after BM3W. Did you have a puncture? Got the same warning light on mine only yesterday and it definitely was a puncture....a thorn of all things and of course it had to be in the tyre wall did'nt it Anyway, managed to get to a local ATS but typically they didn't have Dunlops only Michelin. Had the 2 front changed to these and the car feels a little odd. Can't put my finger on it but the front definitely feels lighter. Also, after the tyre change, I've developed a slight 'squeak' whilst moving at slow speed. Not sure what that is but anyway, the tyre tread on the Michelins is totally different to the Dunlops although would hazard a guess that they actually have more grip for the winter weather but, like I said, that's just a guess. Don't like running different makes of tyres at the same time so it'll be a toss-up on who the next two tyres that are changed are manufactured by. steve

Hopefully not said goodbye forever to BM3W but, as you probably know, thats a different story. Checked the pressures and they are fine so I'll put it down to just a glitch in the system - haven't tried to replicate it but will probably give it a go when I drive down to Northumberland on Christmas Eve. I'm afraid I can't help you re your tyres. Mine came with Contis which aren't the best but they seem to be fine up to now.
