terrymcg
Just wondered about the wooshing all you lucky buggers with S3's are talking about. I take it it is the same noise I used to get from my TT. So I was wondering why is there a distinct lack of this noise on my 2.0T? You can't hear anything, apart from when you lift off you get a bit of a hiss! Do I just need to work on the wife to let me buy an S3? SamD
It is becuase the Dump Valve on your 2.0T is an entirely recirculating one. Not sure what the TT had or in fact what the S3 has, but I suspect that they are talking a bit of lift off whoosh rather than a full up chavvy whoosh that you could get from an atmospheric valve. Terry [/ QUOTE ] To be honest it is a very raw but acceptable set of noises. Once the turbo kicks in at about 2500 rpm it then starts to whislte very nicely at about 3000rpm beacuse I am then lifting off at about 4200 you then get the lift off noise. It is like an old schoold turbo car with the correct wooshes and whisles etc, that said they are all supressed just enough to stop it sounding too max power etc. I love having the window down for a feew mins as the noise is great AZ
