robpink
just traded in my 160,000 mile A4 B6 2.5q tip for a B7 3.0q, shall I get it chipped or make do with 450nm of torque? B7 3.0 tdi quattro sportline tip, saloon, light silver, pirelli p-zeros

Sparky
Welcome to TSN mate Sounds a lovely car there. I'd not chip it just yet! How many miles has it done?
kite
Hi Rob welcome to the fun. is the 3.0 much more powerful ?
robpink
it has 14000 miles on it, I've only done 700 so far(enjoyed every one)! Doesn't feel much more powerful(2.5q was pretty quick)but 3.0 V6 sounds even better than 2.5, handles better(s-line compared to SE previously)but not keen on p-zeros, will replace with Dunlop SP's me thinks or maybe Goodyear F1s? mcgough
I thought the goodyear F1's where good until i tried the falken 452's, ive had them on the track in the wet and the quality is amazing around £90 for 17/18's and £120 for 19's that good that all my cars now have had them, except my kit car which i run toyo proxes t1-s...another amazing tyre
J_C
Welcome to Tyresmoke Rob! Nice to see another silver quattro on here. You car sounds lovely - it would be great to see some pics. What's it like on fuel? Regarding tyres, I have two quattros - one with SP Sports and the other with F1s, but they are both vastly different cars so it's difficult to make a direct comparison. However, on spec I'd highly recommend the F1s; they are excellent tyres which just grip and grip and grip. They're probably not the quietest around, but of all the tyres I've tried I certainly haven't experienced better performance yet.
robpink
Will post some pics after I clean it next time! Seems to be as good as 2.5q for mpg, I think the extra high 6th gear helps here(70mph = 1900rpm). Will probably go for SP's as I do 40,000+ miles/year & like quiet m/way cruising
