[/ QUOTE ] Just had 4 new MSP2 tyres £524 at Kwick-fit. And if you search the recent posts (last couple of months) you will find a link to an ebay shop that sells genuine VW disks and pads and will sell you the set for approx £
swil00
Holly Aye.. I'd shop around alright... My old Passat needed some major work carried out last week.. 4 Shocks, 4 Springs, 4 top arms, 1 Lower arm and an AC fan.. Fitted plus alignment broke into four figures.. (£1100) Most of the bill was parts aswell !! Scary money for and old runner, but a hell of alot cheaper than Stealer prices. The car is too old now to bother about VAG history.... Specialist work is better IMO anyway.... If I had an .:R with 60K on the clock, I'd only be using the stealer for servicing to get the stamp in the service book.. I'd use a good specialist for all other work..
jimmyp
[ QUOTE ] and I'm do the disks and pads in jan £722 ish to just that [/ QUOTE ] Is that just parts or fitting aswell. As i'm doing mine next year sometime and will post up nearer the time, when i'm ready to change to see if anyone is interested aswell, but i can get disc and pads all round for under £600 will then pay APS to fit them. RossG
I was £340 all in for front discs and pads on ebay recently. The discs were OE, and the pads from GSF car parts - probably a pattern part, but I couldn't give a feck when they were nice and cheap Rear discs and pads were available there for relatively little aswell My local specialist fitted them for £55 all in. Get the tyres some place else - I pay £110 each fitted for goodyear F1's Call up some specialists for prices on brakes - Awesome Gti maybe not so far away from u? sorry my geography is crap. APS are excellent, but maybe a tad far to go (although you'd still save a huge wad of cash!)

Oliver891
I had my Mk4 serviced recently at a stealer and was advised that all the disks needed replacing. They said there was 69% wear on the front disks and 45% wear on the rears. I didn't have them done as there's soooo much life left in them - check yours actually do need to be replaced before paying out for it! Especially if it is going to cost one meeeeeeeeelion dollars. [/ QUOTE ] Would not recomend them for service/repair, mate had big problems with them destroyed his passat engine and would not admit they did it. Tyres try www.tiptoptyres.com or 0191 2567863 they are the sub contracter for www.ETyres.co.uk in the northeast. They did a good job and friendly service and come out to your work/home to fit them.
