oldskool Posted December 21, 2006 Report Share Posted December 21, 2006 sumthing stupid , but i ipressed the fuel cap open button the other day, and it opend fine, but now it wont close, i push it hard and it does nothin, and when i press the button it makes no noise or anythin! its like its jammed open. any ideas guys?? Rustynuts Posted December 21, 2006 Report Share Posted December 21, 2006 Well, it's power open and spring return, so if it's stuck in the open position then I'd say it's jammed. If it was a fuse or failed component then it'd stick shut, so I'd investigate the actual catch mechanism in the filler flap first. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
oldskool Posted December 23, 2006 Author Report Share Posted December 23, 2006 yea when u open it, it looks like the wee metal bit that goes up and down to open it is stuck down, i noticed theres a screw next to it, so ill try that and c if it screws off and shuts again. Hudster Posted December 24, 2006 Report Share Posted December 24, 2006 Mine golf has this issue, it's the solenoid sticking in the open position.
